On November 21-22, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education organized a workshop titled "Curriculum development for master program" as part of the ERASMUS+ FOREST project.
The FOREST (Future ORiented chEmiSTry) project is an initiative funded by ERASMUS of the European Union, aimed at developing future-oriented master's programs in Chemistry. Among its members is the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.
The workshop was attended by project representatives, including Professor Jan-Erik Lundqvist from Linköping University, Sweden - the project coordinator; two experts, Assistant Professor Peter Waldner and Ms. Mariaelena Murphy from the University of Leoben, Austria; and representatives from Vietnamese member universities such as the Vietnam National University of Forestry, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the University of Science - Hue University, and the University of Science - Thai Nguyen University.
The workshop's goal was to provide an opportunity for the Vietnamese member universities to share their master's program frameworks in Chemistry, as well as their perspectives and plans for developing specific course lectures. Additionally, the workshop facilitated discussions on strengths, weaknesses, and challenges to be addressed. It also aimed to further enhance the project's activities and deepen the cooperative relationships among the participants. Based on the reports from the universities, Professor Jan-Erik Lundqvist and the two foreign experts provided practical suggestions for the universities to adjust and perfect their programs to meet European standards.
